This Privacy Policy explains how Zelbr ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with our website (zelbr.com) and our products.
Website (zelbr.com)
Our website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not use cookies, tracking scripts, or analytics on the website. No personal information is collected through browsing the website. Cloudflare may collect minimal access logs (such as IP addresses) as part of its standard hosting infrastructure, in accordance with Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Japanese Drill (Mobile App)
The following sections describe how we handle information in connection with the Japanese Drill mobile application ("the App").
For users in the EU, EEA, or UK, your consent for personalized advertising is obtained separately through our in-app consent flow (powered by Google UMP), and is not implied by mere use of the App.
1. Information We Collect
1-1. Information You Provide
Japanese Drill does not require account creation and does not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information directly.
1-2. Automatically Collected Information
The App uses Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC) to display advertisements. AdMob may automatically collect the following information:
- Advertising ID — A resettable device identifier used for interest-based advertising (Google Advertising ID on Android; IDFA on iOS)
- Device information — Device model, operating system version, language settings
- IP address — Used to infer approximate geographic location for ad targeting
- App usage data — Ad impressions, clicks, and interaction events
- Diagnostic data — Crash logs and performance data
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
1-3. Locally Stored Data
All learning progress (XP, streak, spaced repetition card data) is stored locally on your device only using Hive, a local database. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
2. How We Use Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information collected via AdMob is used solely for the following purposes:
- Displaying relevant advertisements within the App
- Measuring ad performance and detecting invalid traffic
- Complying with legal obligations
We also use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to collect aggregate, anonymized usage data such as app open events and screen views. This data does not identify individual users and is processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
3. Advertising
3-1. Google AdMob
The App displays banner ads and optional rewarded video ads via Google AdMob. Rewarded ads are entirely voluntary — you may choose to watch a video ad to earn an in-app XP bonus, but you are never required to do so.
AdMob may use your Advertising ID to show personalized ads based on your interests. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or opt out of Ads Personalization
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
3-2. EU/EEA and UK Users — Consent
If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent before collecting any data for personalized advertising, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
You may withdraw or change your consent at any time within the App's settings.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

We do not share data with any other third parties.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local data (progress, XP, streak): Stored on your device and deleted when you uninstall the App.
- AdMob / Firebase data: Retained by Google according to Google's data retention policies. You may request deletion via Google's data deletion tools.
- Contact form data: Responses submitted via our Google Forms contact form are stored by Google and used solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data
- Objection: Object to certain types of data processing
- Portability: Request transfer of your data in a machine-readable format

8. Security
All learning data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted over the internet. The App operates primarily offline (except for ad requests via AdMob and analytics data via Firebase). We take reasonable technical measures to protect information handled by the App.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of our products after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
